![]() ![]() My way was using a selfmade rgb controller and use that with home assistant. Maybe corsair iCUE can controll in the future all our led´s, lets hope it atleast. But I agree, that its bs to use one software per brand instead of one for the whole pc. But Im still using Aura for that, since I have more tweakable parameters and effects, the only missing is the binding to the cpu temp. After I switched to Dragon Center (btw another crappy software) I can finally controll the ram RGB stable without glitches or so. Even when I controlled the RAM with Asus Aura (Yes, for any asus aura synch product it should work, even on atleast msi mainboards, cant confirm other brands). With Standalone Mystic Light 3 I had problems with controlling the ram rgb properly (there where color artifacts, the standard animation shortly displaying, sometimes the ram didnt even show up in ML, etc). I have two sticks g.skill TridentZ Royal RAM on my msi b360 Gaming Plus. Sometimes I leave my PC on at night to work on something, and I don't want a light show in the room. But there are still some fairly small but bright LEDs on the power connectors to my GPU and on the motherboard near the RAM slots. My GPU also has LED lighting, which I have disabled with its software tool. If I ever switch to Linux, I'm not sure there is a tool for Linux that can disable Mystic Light on bootup. Apparently, that's when an MSI tool runs that turns off the Mystic Light on the motherboard. After turning off my PC, the next time I turn it on, the Mystic Light on the motherboard will be on until it boots into Windows. When I turn off my PC, it seems to forget my Mystic Light setting. Also, in order to turn off the Mystic Light feature, I had to find a special firmware file (on the MSI forum) to flash on my motherboard, because initially, Dragon Center was doing nothing to change the Mystic Light setting on my motherboard. Also what bugs me is that the Mystic Light on the motherboard isn't even turned off permanently. The thing that bugged me the most when I put my PC together was that the motherboard had LED lighting in the first place, as I have no use for that. I have an MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC motherboard, and I haven't really used it a whole lot except for changing my Mystic Light setting and watching the CPU temperature. I mean no offense to any of the MSI employees and I just posted this to bring attention to some things I think they can improve on. If the little things like this don't get fixed then I will sadly have to not choose MSI for my next motherboard purchase.Įdit: I just reread this and it sounds really aggressive. All I want is that MSI acknowledges their mistake and fixes their software or adds Mystic Light control to the UEFI so nobody has to deal with this dumpster fire of a software. The fact that these features are here, but they don't have a button is insane. But the fact that Mystic Light control is so unfinished, and some RGB features are locked behind a voice assistant that doesn't work 90% of the time is unacceptable. Most of the complaints listed above really don't bother me all that much. The features noted above are NOT available to pick from in the graphical Mystic Light menu. Some features are exclusive to "Hey Lucky" (Rainbow, Color Shift, Lapped). ![]() Mystic light is missing many common features (Color shift, Animation speed). The software opening will deinitialize your keyboard and mouse and make them unresponsive for a second.User scenario is unreliable in changing scenarios.Gaming mode doesn't detect a lot of my games.Registering my motherboard did not work in the app (This may have been the fault of my MSI account being recently created). Some utilities in Live update have no description as to what they do (Super Charger, Speed Up).It prompts you to install bloatware in the Live update section (Google apps and Norton Security). Here are some parts of the app that irk me: I mainly use it just for RGB control since that's really the only part of the app that you can't control from the UEFI, but Dragon Center even gets that wrong. I enjoy the motherboard and all it's other features, but one thing that has been bothering me is how horrendous Dragon Center is. I recently bought an MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max for a new build. ![]()
